The story of the Dimissianos leatherwear dates back to 1948 and originated from the traditional “Tsarouhia” shoes in Corfu Island, Greece.
The brand has been passed down to his son Hector Dimissianos and his wife, Karolina Miller, who continues to develop and further explore it.
Hector and Karolina aim to preserve traces of life, such as scars, rough textures and irregular tonalities written on an animal’s skin - A powerful inspiration for their work.
Water, sunlight, earth, and air help them to achieve the desired shapes and textures. In addition, the traditional tools they use leave their own marks, later becoming their signature. They like to think of their shoes as objects of substance and significance.
Within several years since they started in 2010, the newly acquired craft, combined with their previous background in cultural theory, fine arts and photography, enabled them to turn an old family run, cobbler workshop inthe old town of Corfu into an artisanal shoe brand, appreciated by some of the most sophisticated independent stores in the world.
