The Range imagines a modern space with a soulful ethos. Emma and Tom Lane have designed a Spanish-inspired sanctuary that gives welcome and allows guests to take respite. It is where balmy nights evoke the feeling of being wrapped in the warm embrace of a remote casa in the Mediterranean, where stories past and present echo like whispers into the night. And where being soothed by the calming sound of nature’s voice and immersing in the beauty of a home, consciously designed to be in harmony with the elements, invites a chance to pause, reflect and take complete surrender.
The heartbeat of any home belongs to moments at the table, exchanging stories, being with loved ones, connecting and breaking bread. The custom-designed table by S Lambourn. Hull was brought in as the main centrepiece to elevate and enhance the indoor dining area.
Antique Chairs and suspended Iron Pendant lights lend themselves to the natural aspects of furnishings and repurposed materials throughout the house.

“The Range has been consciously designed to ensure it sits quietly in the landscape, using natural material and considering the native surrounds in every element of its creation….”
Emma and Tom’s passion for sustainability and conscious design are at the heart of their home creation. Ancient Basalt rocks sourced from the property’s surrounding rainforests built the indoor and outdoor fireplaces framework. Lending itself to the raw elements of nature, the outdoor area features Iron Pendant lights, Tinekhome Bamboo Dining Chairs and a custom-created native Australian Teak Table by S. Lambourn Hull.
Intentionally considered pieces, both aged and new, make history and storytelling an interwoven feature that permeates throughout the house.
Taking influences from extended corners of the earth, The Range was a dream brought to life by following a whim, paying attention to the signs and trusting wholeheartedly in timing.
With the raw beauty of a native Australian landscape providing the backdrop and inspiration taken from a love affair with the Spanish Mediterranean, an old homestead was found and transformed, breathing the heart and soul of two distant cultures to become a home, a sanctuary and a place where future dreams belonging to soulful hearts will continue calling.
